Dar Casa

Dar Casa is a third-sector organisation dedicated to housing inclusion. They offer different housing solutions to associates, including apartments rented at a reduced price. Some of their projects are interesting for students looking for accomodation:

  • Foyer di Cenni: This project provides 5 cohabitation apartments, addressing people from 18 to 30 years old. There are both single and shared rooms, ranging from 380 to 250 euros per month. All these apartments are included in a broader social housing project developed by the cooperative “Cenni di Cambiamento” in the San Siro neighbourhood.
  • Carbonia 3: This is a building, developed from a social-mix perspective, where families in difficult housing conditions, young precarious workers and students (both under 35 years old) can live. This complex provides different residential units, and many common spaces that can foster community activities, co-working, and other shared activities.
  • Ospitalità Solidale: It is a project that involves up to 24 young workers and students. This is based on studios that are too small to comply with the requirements for social housing, located in Niguarda and Ponti. The rent is at a reduced price (380€ per month), and the students are asked to provide 10 hours of voluntary activities every month inside the context of the neighbourhood where they are located.
  • Grigioni 2035: This project is based on 10 three-room apartments, with both single and shared rooms (450 and 275 euros per month). The project addresses young workers and students, and fosters cohabitation and the social activation in the context of the broader social housing project. This project is dedicated especially to people who need accommodation for up to 18 months.

Meglio Milano

Meglio Milano is a collective organisation developed with the aim of fostering the quality of life in Milan. Its activities include research activities and the development of specific projects, among which we find:

  • Prendi in Casa is an inter-generational co-living project. It aims to develop cohabitations between people (retired or not) who have a spare room and young workers/students. The student pays 280 euros/month as reimbursement and could live together with a family/single person. The host(s) and guest meet each other and decide if they want to undertake reciprocal cohabitation.
